Tutorial 9: Doors and keys


Some doors require a key to be opened. Let’s create one.

Select Geometry/Wood door and right click anywhere to create a door. Left click on it to see its configuration parameters. Note that the “openId” field is set to “1“, and “requiresKey” is set to “True“.

 

Select Items/ItemKey and right click anywhere to create a key. Left click on it to see its configuration parameters. Note that the “openId” field is set to “1“. Note that a green line connects the door and the key. That’s because they share the same open code, the openId. Just assign the same openId to a door and its key (or keys). It’s that easy!

 

Click on Save to save the changes.

 

Click on Play to test the map. Now you can pick that key up and open the door. Wow, really easy!
